Who this is for
Anyone doing topic or keyword research who wants breadth from real web sources rather than a written summary. It is gated behind the Intelligence entitlement (Pro and Enterprise); Free sees an upgrade prompt.
When to use this page
When you want to see what the open web actually says about a subject, quickly, without waiting on an AI analysis. Topic search is deliberately sources-only: it returns ranked real pages and how many sources were searched, with no AI-written synthesis and no scores. Use it for fast discovery; use an audit's Intelligence tab when you want scored analysis of a specific site.
Before you start
- A plan with Intelligence (Pro or Enterprise).
- Nothing else. Topic search does not need a site or an audit.
In the app
- Choose Topic Search from the top of the sidebar (route
/topic-search). - Type a phrase and run it. Results are ranked web sources, with a count such as "searched across N sources".
- Open a result to reach its detail view (
/topic-search/[id]). - To keep a topic current, track it. Tracked topics refresh on a weekly cycle, and the page shows how many are due this week.
A Topic searches widget is also available on the customisable dashboard.
Common pitfalls
- No AI summary is shown. That is by design. Topic search reports sources and breadth, not an AI narrative or a score.
- Free plan. Running a search returns an upgrade prompt; the feature needs Pro or Enterprise.
- It is not a site audit. Topic search is subject-level discovery. For scored, site-specific intelligence, run an audit with Intelligence enabled.
